Karunika (Robert Mason) (U.K)
He qualified as a lawyer in 1981 and subsequently trained as an Accountant with the intention of laying the foundations for a career in business. During the same period he embarked on a Jungian Analysis in response to the inner challenges of his life and in the mid 1980's came across and was profoundly influenced by Buddhism. Engaging with his own difficulties and joys together with the practice of Buddhism triggered into him a sense of empathy for others and a deep desire to contribute to the world in as meaningful a way as possible.
In 1993 he supplemented his commercial experience with a certificate in Counselling Skills from the Westminster Pastoral Foundation. And since that time his work has focused on the management of a series of different charities, bringing to bear skills and experience gained in the business world together.
He gains sustenance from friendship, walking amongst nature, listening to music, meditation and dancing.
He values integrity, honesty, courage, vulnerability, open-heartedness, loving-kindness, generosity, sensitivity and a willingness to learn from life.
